Louie Ettling is the Director of The Yoga Space in Vancouver (www.theyogaspace.ca). She has been a keen student of Iyengar Yoga since she started her studies with Wende Davis in the eighties. She has studied with B.K.S Iyengar and his family in Pune, India and in North America on eight occasions and with senior Iyengar Yoga teachers from all over the world. For the past fifteen years Louie has shared her love of the subject by teaching seriously and with humour. She is supportive and challenging of students' own intelligent exploration of and participation in yoga.
Patricia began her studies of Iyengar yoga in the mid 1980's and has lived and studied with teachers across Canada. She regularly attends workshops with senior Canadian and international teachers as well as the Iyengar family, including classes at the RIMYI in Pune, India. Patricia has served on the Professional Development Committee of Iyengar Yoga Association of Canada for many years and is currently on the Executive. She teaches from a depth of training and experience, encouraging students to explore the many gifts yoga has to offer and to observe the changes that it brings.
Corrie is an accomplished yoga teacher who has been practicing yoga for over 30 years. She decided to share the years of knowledge she had gained, and started teaching Yoga more than 10 years ago. Corrie is an encouraging and motivating teacher who has expertise in working with pupils of every level to gain optimum achievement in every pose. She is a certified Iyengar Yoga instructor.
Bridget is a certified Iyengar Yoga instructor who has been studying yoga since 1992 and teaching at the Yoga Space since 2001. She has studied with local teachers Franklin Schryver and Claudia MacDonald as well as many national and international teachers. Grateful for the benefits that yoga has brought her, Bridget enjoys seeing her students discover the joys of yoga for themselves.
Deborah has been practicing Iyengar yoga since 1996 and began teaching in 1999. Deborah has attended numerous workshops and intensives with both national and international senior teachers in Australia and New Zealand and was fortunate enough to attend the R.I.M.Y.I. in Pune, India. Deborah believes the wondrous joy of yoga is available to one and all, to be cherished and shared.
Corinne Skrobot began her study of Iyengar yoga in 2002 and completed her teacher training with Louie Ettling and Ingelise Nherlan. In June 2009 she received her Iyengar Yoga Introductory Level II certificate. From her first class Corinne recognized the beneficial and therapeutic effects of Iyengar Yoga on the body and how this system of practice and movement could guide one towards self care. Corinne continues to study with local and internationally renowned Iyengar yoga instructors by regularly attending classes and workshops. She brings her passion for our capacity to heal and expertise as a registered Physiotherapist (1990) to her yoga teaching.
Arezou is a certified Iyengar yoga teacher. She had the privilege of being introduced to and practicing yoga directly under the guidance of the senior teacher, Mahyar Raz; the director of Iyengar yoga school of Toronto and Tehran. She attends workshops regularly by international senior teachers such as Manouso Manos, Father Joe, and Mahyar Raz, to deepen her understanding. Arezou recently spent a month in Pune, India studying with Geeta and Prashant Iyengar at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute. Arezou has been practicing yoga enthusiastically for 12 years and she’s always been fascinated by the transformation that yoga brought to many levels of her life. She enjoys sharing her experience with her students in a compassionate and precise way.
Grant Richards began his study of Iyengar Yoga with Claudia MacDonald in 1990. He has attended many workshops locally by visiting senior Iyengar teachers. Grant has been a student at the Yoga Space since 2000 and is in the second year of the three year training program with Ingelise Nherlan and Louie Ettling. Grant enjoys the process of working towards a better balance in life through yoga, and encourages more men to join the practice of Iyengar Yoga.
Alisen's passion for mindful discovery through movement brought her to the Iyengar method of yoga nine years ago. Working as a corrective conditioning coach in the sport and fitness industry she continually draws from the foundation of mobility, stability, strength and alignment as a powerful tool to move in a non harming way.
Lily first started studying Iyengar yoga with Corrie Vorlaufer in 2004. She frequently attends classes and workshops with local and international teachers and is presently completing the Iyengar yoga teacher-training program with Louie Ettling and Ingelise Nherlan. She believes that yoga helps better a person and welcomes everyone to come and try a class. She is an ACE Certified Personal trainer (2006).
Emma Cassidy has been studying Iyengar Yoga since the early 2000s; she began her teacher training in Ireland with senior teacher Aisling Guirke and is currently continuing her training in Vancouver with Ingelise Nherlan and Louie Ettling. She has worked with many UK teachers and attends workshops with visiting teachers to Vancouver. Having experienced the changes that yoga can bring to life on a mental, emotional and physical level, Emma is eager to share these benefits with others.
